Twitterverse seems to be greatly disappointed with Apple’s presentation of iPhone 4S instead of the so much anticipated iPhone 5, that was never anything more than a rumor. We at Фо never seen an iPhone 5, but we know what an iPhone 4S is.
Was there ever an iPhone 5? No facts or hints from Apple itself, just some Chinese-made iPhone 5 cases popping on the web here and there. Were they even for the iPhone? They looked more like HTC cases to us.
So, is it at all rational to be upset about not having something that was never actually there? We don’t think so.
So what does this all mean for us, mobile photographers? Well, first of all we got an iPhone 4S with an 8 megapixel camera with new optics that dramatically increase the detail in your shots.

We all know that it is not only the megapixels that are responsible for the quality of the image, it is actually the size of the sensor and optics. They have increased the size of the aperture and added a fifth lens, which gives a sharper image. The new sensor is designed to capture more light in each pixel, that will allow you to get sharper images with more accurate color. Plus you can shoot 1080 HD video at 30 frames per second.
New iOS 5, sporting over 200 new software features and its the world’s most advanced mobile operating system to date. Dual-core A5 chip is responsible for faster graphics, browsing the web, going from app to app, which is important when you need to take your picture from Camera+ to A-HDR to Instagram, right?

iOS5 also includes photo enhancement software. We are fans of all those countless photo-editing apps, so why not have one more, built-in straight into your iPhone? Now you can crop, rotate and enhance straight on your phone. Then organize them by places, album or even…people. New Faces feature allows you to organize photographs by who’s pictured in them.
After you’ve done with all that, iCloud will automatically send all your pictures to connected Apple devices, so you can browse them on your MacBook, iMac or iPad.
So I have no idea what is iPhone 5, but I know what great new feature iPhone 4S offers to iPhoneographers. You van wait for non-existent iPhone 5 all you want, but I am going to get my new iPhone 4S as soon as available in the stores. All in the name of better photo of course.
